Have you ever experienced a raging sea in your life? where it seems like everything is out of control! I’m sure we can all testify about a season in our lives where the storms of life came crashing down. There’s a saying that goes, “If you are breathing you are either in a storm or coming out of one. ” No one can avoid it, you can never be too prepared for it, it comes suddenly like an unexpected hurricane.

I recently had a vision, where I was on a boat with God the Father in the middle of the sea. There was a storm all around us and the wind was blowing, we were in the middle of a storm. He gave me a staff to place in the sea so that a path would be opened. I saw people and families walk on the path and they were able to walk on dry ground. These people were all clothed in white. I sensed that some of them had just come out of trials and some were entering in a trial. In the midst of these storms, God the Father was with them. He was standing on the boat watching over them as they walked on through this path, all the while the storm was raging around them. These people represent the family or children of God.

Today I want to talk about the God of all comfort, the God of peace in the midst of the storms. Just like in the vision God is with us, if you are a child of God and have accepted Christ in your heart. God is with you, when we go through trials He holds by our hands and gets us through the trials. He gives us peace so that we may walk through on dry ground, even through we are surrounded by storms. He is our hope, our peace and our joy. We can rely on Him to get us through anything we face in life.

Jesus, demonstrates the perfect example in His suffering on the cross. He faced His disciples turning their backs on Him. He was falsely accused, spat on, and wounded for our sake so that we may be called children of God. He endured the cross for our sake because there was a greater reward in the end which was to reconcile us to God. Likewise when were face trials of various kinds we must endure, knowing that God is with us and through our perseverence there’s a great reward and God can use us to encourage others who are going through trials.

So if you are facing a trial today, look to Jesus, focus on Him while you are in the storm. Let your eyes gaze upon Him and not the water below as Peter did. Hang on to Him with all you’ve got and sooner or later your storm will pass. Likewise if you haven’t accepted Jesus in your heart, call on Him today to save you, turn away from your old ways and look to Him. His arms are open wide to receive you and when you put your faith and trust in Him He will get you through any storms you might be facing today, for He is faithful and true.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affiction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
